There was a Hunger Game

5:09 PM

so this weekend was my first weekend living back at the Riv. and I couldn't have been happier just to chill.

Friday night we went to Strawberry Days in AF. soooooooooo much fun. Chantelly/Leah/Big Garrett/new friend Alex went on the craziest scariest ride-o-death.

while they were spinning around on the wheel-o-terror and wanting to puke their guts out, I bought a funnel cake and this darling homemade blue/white polka dotted hair fabric flower clip that I'm pretty sure you could only find in Utah.

Saturday I laid outside for a while, hoping to get some sort of sun en mi vida, but I'm pretty sure I'm just as white. but I did get to borrow The Hunger Games from my friend Brian.

seriously. if you haven't read it yet, GO READ IT RIGHT NOW. although I doubt you'll be able to because library waiting lists are totally backed up for it and bookstores can't keep it on the shelves fast enough. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh SUCH a good book. I finished it in one day. ridiculous I know. but I just COULDN'T put it down. I skipped out on movie night and playing pool and all kinds of other social things to read it. amazing and awesome-sauce and fabulous and fantastic and {why do all my adjectives start with A or F???} incredible {...there we go} and great and wonderful and inspiring and thought-provoking and intense and GOOD. go read it. right now.

I'm still trying to track down the second one.

yesterday I went to church with all my old friends and made Hawaiian Haystacks for dinner with Leah and rice pudding for dessert {in honor of my dad and father's day. but secretly I just made way too much rice and needed to do something with it}. then our friend CJ came to visit us and we played pool {big surprise} for a while. I lost terribly.

after that it was close to midnight so I went home and watched "Miss Potter" on my laptop.

also such a good flick. it's about Beatrix Potter, the author and illustrator of the Peter Rabbit books. she was seriously an amazing woman. the movie is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay sad, but seriously so good.

.... also is it weird that every time I say "seriously so" anything, I think of this??? bleh. I think it's weird.

Music Tuesday today is "Love the Way You Lie" by Eminem/Rihanna. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh so incredible. okay, so I hope my love of Eminem hasn't been a secret on this blog. because I looooove Eminem. Chantelly & I sing his songs on top of the HFAC {okay, once}, and we adore him. and while Rihanna's definitely gone downhill for me, what with Rude Boy and Russian Roulette and all those weird songs, this song is amazing. it's like, heartfelt. which is weird for both of them. but it's great.
