I fell in love a few weeks ago. with a city I never intended to love so much.
I sincerely hope I get to back asap.
most fun trip of my life. plus I got to go with great fun friends and laugh my head off lots.
airplane ride to DC. Steve was sleeping the entire way there
while we played in-flight trivia against other stranger-passengers.
the metro. the walls and ceiling looked like cement waffles.
and poor Lauren's card stopped working like the 3rd day
so she had to go through the guard every time.
her big smile is a testament that this is pre-broken card
the capitol at night. suuuuuper cool.
this is just after Nick asked where the stores were on the National Mall. ha.
in front of the White House.
I accidentally said, "It's not even that big! my house is bigger AND it looks like a castle!"
Pentagon memorial.
each bench (the green lights are underneath the bench) represented a person who died in the attack.
I was the sleuthing mastermind who figured out the symbolism behind it.
if they were facing the Pentagon they were in the plane that struck. if they were facing away they were inside the building.
each diagonal row of benches represented a year,
dating from 1997 to the 30s and 40s.

seriously moving memorial.
most delicious toasted marshmallow milkshake I have {and will ever} partake of.
seriously. go to DC and get one. happiness in a plastic cup.
inside the Capitol building.
the artwork was incredible
and it's amazing to think that this building gets used by our leaders every day.
I want to work in a building that stinking beautiful.
we also were privileged enough to go the Department of State
for a media briefing.

the briefing room where reporters hounded the spokesman.
he has a reeeeally hard job. and I'm grateful for people like him.
Washington Monument.
because you can't have any buildings taller than the Capitol, you can see it everywhere from DC.
Arlington National Cemetery.
don't let anyone ever try to tell you it's small.
if they do, they're big fat liars.
we also went to my all time faaaaaaaaavorite store.
twice.
even when we were dead tired and exhausted to the max,
Michelle(x2) perked up when I suggested going.
I was so good though and I only bought one thing.
and it was totally cute and worth it.
and, story of my life, I make fun of statues and pose like them.

this is at the Smithsonian.
{in the sweater I bought from H&M :) }
the real reason why we went. I promise it wasn't just to see the sights.
Junior's cheesecake at the PRSSA Opening Social. soooooooooooooooo stinkin good.
can you tell I was excited for them??
our BYU group.
Brandon, Steve, Lauren, Patrick, Nick, Michelle S, Michelle T and me.
the ladies. Michelle S, Lauren, Michelle T and me.
we had way too much fun
{pretend I'm not weirdly in the sunshine while everyone else is shadowed in this picture...}
getting ready together in the morning
listening to Speak Now by T-Swift and telling our life stories
and laughing our heads off at each other.
plus they put up with my {really strange} mental breakdown when I couldn't find my PR Superhero shirt.
on top of everything...
BYU's PRSSA chapter won the 2010 Outstanding Chapter Award.
given to one PRSSA chapter out of over 300 chapters nationwide.
it was such a cool honor to be part of the team that accepted the award
and such an awesome experience to be part of the winning chapter.
we were like mini-celebs after that.
fun trip. awesome memories. great friends.
what more could you ask for?
new music tuesday: 'Jar of Hearts' by Christina Perri.
I saw the music vid on Saturday's VH1 Top 20 Music Video Countdown and I was seriously moved.
very cool song, very strange video.
I just like it. :)
