...guys! guys!

there is some crazy stuff going on in the world right now!

1. a fun crazy- real life Up! so stinkin cool!

2. a creepy crazy- a whorder and a mummified mom?! {seriously, this story makes me a little nauseas...}

3. and finally- as many of you probly know- Japan's quake & tsunami

my thoughts and prayers go out to those with flooding and damage in Hawaii & California, but especially those in Japan.

between quakes and aftershocks, a devastating tsunami and threats of a nuclear plant meltdown, I'm incredibly grateful for my current situation and blessings.

Thursday night, I was stressing about a big decision I have to make in the very near future {aka- Monday} as far as my summer plants are concerned. then my sweet mom texted me at like 11:30pm saying to watch the news because Japan was in trouble. then she sent me messages about warnings in Hawaii {where my little sister Jaime is going to school} and to stay in contact with her. they were evacuated from their dorm rooms at 3am and sent to wait for the worst. luckily, her side of the island wasn't hit and the waves that hit Honolulu were smaller than expected.

still. scary stuff.

then that next morning I saw alerts that the waves would hit the US west coast, particularly San Fran, other parts of NorCal, LA, Santa Barbara and Newport Beach. aka- all my stomping grounds & current residence of my favoritefriend Chantelly. I think there was some flooding and damage up north, but less than expected.

again. more scary stuff.

I was so caught up in my own life, and- as devastating as the whole thing is- Japan was a totally needed reality check for me. I spent my entire day at work on Friday doing "tsunami watch" and didn't think about my big near-future decision for more than 3 seconds max.

and I needed that wake up call.

but after scares like that, I'm mostly just grateful everyone I know and love is safe and taken care of. not everyone in the world has that luxury.

in light of everything, what are you most grateful for?

other people just think they're weird.

after my grocery escapade at Winco the other night and my creative eating habits beforehand {mostly because I was out of almost everything}, I was thinking about the things I eat.

I ate all my delicious-things-that-people-think-are-weird this week.

1.  grilled cheese. plus ketchup.


ask my friend Jennie, she'll tell you so, too.
so, most people like grilled cheese and tomato soup- ketchup is just a condensed form of tomato soup.


2. chocolate covered sunflower seeds.






3. sandwich rounds.




4. creamed corn.


it's delicious. kinda looks like vanilla pudding with grossness it in, but I looooove it.

well, okay, not yet. but there will be. in a couple weekends.

oh. and reason why it's called a Toad Ball. really, I just call it that. it's technically a Cinderella Ball, but when our bishop announced it, he said it was a Princess and the Toad Ball, we'd be the princesses and have to dance with toads, or something along those lines. I thought it was hilarious and wanted to pee my pants in church and everything. I love BYU wards for that explicit reasons. hilarious reasons to laugh in church. :)

like this Sunday for example. when my friend Derik turned the super-bright-overhead lights on the ward choir while they were singing, but only flipped them on for like the last line and a half of their musical number. then went to turn them back off before he gave his talk and accidentally flipped off ALL the lights in the room. awesome.

oh. and reason why it's a Cinderella ball, not a Toad ball. so all the girls have to put in one shoe, and the boys pick their date by picking a shoe from the giant mountain of shoes. scary, right? yeah, no pressure boys. you'd better pick a great one.

so it was sposed to be last weekend, but it got rescheduled. that's okay. now I just have more time to freak out about this.

{I can write all this stuff because no boys read this blog slash care. at least, no boys of eternal significance, anyway.}

now I'm wayyyyyyyyy too excited/nervous/anxious. it's not for another week and a half, but I've been thinking about my dress and what shoes I'm gonna wear like 24/7. ridiculous, I tell ya.

still haven't decided my shoes. or my dress. help me decide.
