There Was, um, Will Be, A Toad Ball

5:00 PM

well, okay, not yet. but there will be. in a couple weekends.

oh. and reason why it's called a Toad Ball. really, I just call it that. it's technically a Cinderella Ball, but when our bishop announced it, he said it was a Princess and the Toad Ball, we'd be the princesses and have to dance with toads, or something along those lines. I thought it was hilarious and wanted to pee my pants in church and everything. I love BYU wards for that explicit reasons. hilarious reasons to laugh in church. :)

like this Sunday for example. when my friend Derik turned the super-bright-overhead lights on the ward choir while they were singing, but only flipped them on for like the last line and a half of their musical number. then went to turn them back off before he gave his talk and accidentally flipped off ALL the lights in the room. awesome.

oh. and reason why it's a Cinderella ball, not a Toad ball. so all the girls have to put in one shoe, and the boys pick their date by picking a shoe from the giant mountain of shoes. scary, right? yeah, no pressure boys. you'd better pick a great one.

so it was sposed to be last weekend, but it got rescheduled. that's okay. now I just have more time to freak out about this.

{I can write all this stuff because no boys read this blog slash care. at least, no boys of eternal significance, anyway.}

now I'm wayyyyyyyyy too excited/nervous/anxious. it's not for another week and a half, but I've been thinking about my dress and what shoes I'm gonna wear like 24/7. ridiculous, I tell ya.

still haven't decided my shoes. or my dress. help me decide.

shoe choices.

a. the sparkly Toms.

these are my first choice at the moment. they're not super comfy, which is a dancing turn-off, but they're just awesome. and I feel like only someone as awesome as these shoes would pick them. ... right?

 b. the reliable pretties.

I think these shoes are gorgeous. they're good for dancing, and simple enough. but they're still veeeeeery pretty. they'd go really well with anything I decide to wear.

c. the trusty New Yorkers.

these are my New York shoes. they were my choir shoes all throughout high school and walked with me all over New York and stood on the stage at Carnegie Hall.
they've seen better days, for sure. but there are 3 other girls in my ward that have the same pair. we're all thinking about wearing them, thoroughly confusing all the boys, and maybe switching dates if we need to. :P
plus these are, by far, the comfyest pair of shoes I own. better than any pair of flats any day of the week.

d. none of the above.

okay, that's not a choice. just pick one of the first three.

dress options.
a. Cinderella dress.

um. ignore the fact that I'm on a monster truck. with another dude. also that this is a bad shot. try this one.

b. Mermaid dress.

for the record, I'm the one in the purple. not the blue. that is my much-more-beautiful-seester Jay Jay. this was us before Mormal my senior {her sophomore} year of high school.
sheesh I don't miss that house. we don't live there anymore.

ha. here's a funny one of the same dress. maybe a better shot. get a laugh out it, if nothing else.

we found this on the inside of the women's restroom door at Olive Garden {? maybe it was Macaroni Grill}. it was odd, to say the least. so we posed by it.

... couldn't tell ya who took the picture thought.
*sigh* I miss these ladies.

so. help me decide, ok?
let me know which your favorite shoes and dress are. or a sweet combination of the two. I'm very open to suggestions at this point.

1 love notes

  1. Did you already have the Ball?! I like the reliable pretties, but the sparkly Toms are so unique...! As for the dresses, you rock them both better than Cinderella ever wished she could.
