Well... he was there... At my graduation... And signed this program for me. Yeah. It was super crazy. :)
Hilarious. And such a funny memento now.
Anyway. Four years ago I started this blog as a way to keep my friends (and mostly my mom) updated on want was going on in my life. That's still true, but it's still crazy that I'm DONE with school. Potentially FOREVER.
I'm super stoked about that fact :)
So I get a text from my mom as I'm waiting backstage that says "Grandma saw Donny Osmond upstairs." I laughed, mostly out of confusion and the randomness of a message like that, but kinda didn't believe that he was actually there. Jani, Janet and I were scouring the Comms department program trying to find an Osmond, but no luck. Then, maybe 35 people after I walked, we heard "Brandon Michael Osmond" and this giant roar from the corner of the De Jong. So yes, there was an Osmond. Turns out it was Donny's son (and yes, he's already married).
After convocation ended, I went wandering through the HFAC trying to find my fam, where I found about half of them. My dad informed me that everyone else had gone upstairs to stalk Donny Osmond. When they got back, Brayden had this giant grin and said, "Guess what we got you!?" and pulled out a program from convocation signed by Donny Osmond! Yeah. It was crazy weird!
Apparently, after they'd found him, Brayden weaseled his way through the crowd and said, "Hey - will you sign this program?" Donny answered with something like, "Sure .......... You don't even know who I am!!"
Hilarious. And such a funny memento now.

two more days of school left for the rest of my life!!
I'm pretty pleased :)

memes.
aren't they pronounced "meems"? not "mehms" or "mehmehs" or "mimis".
this is also a rhetorical question because I know I'm right. I wiki-ed it. and I am right. and it has very recently become a major pet peeve of mine.
that is all. if you're one of the people I hear on campus talking about byu "mehms" and I happen to punch you, don't say I didn't warn you.
and if you don't know what I'm talking about, go to http://www.facebook.com/BYUMemes and educate yourself. sometimes they're entertaining.
this is a very funny and very trendy thing. I like it much much more than the mustache trend. bleck.

typically, I hate March.
hate hate hate hate hate.
it's definitely my least favorite month ever.
BYU doesn't give us a Spring Break, so March becomes the loooooooooongest month of the year. especially because it's wintertime and dreary and snowy and awful outside.
but not this year!
reasons why I am not going to hate March this year:
hate hate hate hate hate.
it's definitely my least favorite month ever.

but not this year!
reasons why I am not going to hate March this year:
- it's my last March of school. ever! 2nd to last month of school ever! can't beat that.
- we didn't really have a winter. minus the random blizzards recently. and that in itself is a miracle. and awesome.
- maybe it will decide to be Spring early???
- st. patrick's day. aka - the day everyone wears my favorite color. :)
- I'm in a sewing class. and Zumba. both are hilarious & fun.
- I'm almost done with school forever!
- I love my job and my friends and my house and everything about my life right now.
- I have a job offer!! In DC! and I had an interview for a firm in New York yesterday, a firm in California today and a potentially interested company in Utah. seriously - this last week has been the craziest and most exciting week of my life. I have a future!!
- did I mention that I'm almost done with school?
yep. March is gonna be a good one. what are you most looking forward to this month?
not to mention I've been a terrible blogger this semester. sooooorry.
but here's a very brief synopsis of all the things I'm grateful for this semester.
ughhhhh.
life is grand, though. seriously. <3
but here's a very brief synopsis of all the things I'm grateful for this semester.
- my house. complete with two fridges, a pull-up bar in the hallway, really hot floors (like, they practically burn your feet), darling roommates and pre-strung Christmas lights.
- best friends who will go with you to see breaking dawn part 1 at midnight and then be disgusted with you afterwards.
- a strange newfound love of being domestic. I've seriously baked SO much this semester.
- sisters I can quote "She's the Man," strange talking cat YouTube videos and "Kid History" with aaaaaall day long.
- my job at the Daily Universe. and Wednesday mornings when we get to test our Front Row Fanatics games.
- this show. new found love. watch it. right now.
- freshman boys that came back from their missions and aren't freshman anymore.
- quaker cheddar snack mix. if you don't know what I'm talking about, look at B6 in any BYU snack vending machine. they've changed my life and I've eaten more of them this semester than probly any other snack food.
- my pilates class. sooooooooo much fun and I love feeling good.
- lots of friends from many places. as manifest at my Christmas party last weekend, I'm really really grateful for all of them.
- parachute and coldplay. I listen to their new albums on repeat basically every day.
- pinterest. nuff said. I'm addicted.
- not having Friday class. :)
- no snow yet!!!
- roommates & best friends I can laugh and cry with, I can jump on their beds (or on them, if need be), I can reminisce with, I can get a phone call from because one of them got engaged and they don't want to tell the story till I get there, I can freak out to and know me better than anyone else, I can go bridesmaid dress shopping online with and have super high hopes only to come back to square one, I can be SO excited for bachelorette parties with in Vegas... mostly just wonderful girlfriends that I hope to be friends with forever.
ughhhhh.
life is grand, though. seriously. <3
because really, everything that I currently love from YouTube, I watched / discovered last year.
like this
and it's original clip
and this
and don't forget this
and this entire series
.... this year - not so much. nothing cool yet.
c'mon YouTube. I'm ready. cross my heart & hope to die.
and since I'm on such a YouTube kick, here are some of my other all-time fave music videos.
and we couldn't get enough of this video over the summer.
heh. and this just makes me laugh.
share your faves?

so yesterday, kenna & heidi & I woke up at 6am to go to the temple. only took us two hours {score one for the Provo temple}. then we came home and tried to shower... well, heidi & I did but we hated our lives because we have 1 water heater for 12 girls, and apparently everyone likes to shower at 8am on saturday mornings. aka - no hot water.
the rest of the day went much better. we went to awful waffle - it's totally false advertising, they were excellent waffles / crepes - for breakfast, took naps later that morning, and then my strange domestication began.
first of all - we found this gem a couple weeks ago when we were cleaning out our house for stuff that didn't belong to anyone.
.... I'm keeping it forever because no one's claimed it. I wore it practically all day.
then, thanks to the wonders of pinterest, I started baking. yes, it was strange. yes, I loved it.
I made a 3 layer true blue angel food cake to celebrate game day.
and I made taco salad shells.
okayyyy maybe these aren't as cool as I think, but they force me to eat salad.
I thought both were awesome :)
then we went to the game.
... and we're just going to leave it at that. we looked cute and had tons of friends. the end. we aren't talking about how sucky the actual game itself was.
but seriously, guys. the last two weekends have been jam-packed full of awesome. it helps that I live with my best friends {minus one.} I've just been super busy & distracted & excellently happy.
plans for future cooking include spinach artichoke dip, homemade pizza, chicken pockets, stir fry and navajo tacos. stay tuned.
new song on the playlist? I have lots of favorites currently. I would totally choose "someone like you" by adele, but that makes me look sad / depressed....
you know what? no. I'm gonna do it anyway. it's a seriously gorgeous song and fits life right now. so deal with it. :}
.... just remind me to put up "something to believe in" by parachute or "marching on" by one republic next week.

so I'm heading hoooooome today. bye bye Provo. see you in some months.
but before I go, here's a list of things I will {and things I won't} miss while I'm gone.
things I'll miss
but before I go, here's a list of things I will {and things I won't} miss while I'm gone.
things I'll miss
- stuff like this. posted on traffic lights as I'm walking to campus. thank you 5 year old girl. :)
- and this view. also on my walk to campus.
- these people. and assorted others, of course.
- all the crazy things that happen in the summer {see the decathlon of love, the oregonian road trip, the water balloon fight, etc.}
- having a car. ...the metro will be a fun substitute for a couple months...
- having Grandma & relatives super close.
- dryness. DC is gonna be humid. we'll see if I survive.... ha.
- Jimmermania/sporting events
- knowing about things on youtube long before the rest of the world, it seems. {probly not true, but it sure feels like it. kid history & rebecca black to name a few.}
- .... that's about it. mostly just the people and the fun things we do all the time.
things I won't miss
- the Riv. and your craziness. especially now that we're owned by the Branbury. No Room for Wallflowers? biggest joke of my liiiiiiife.
- spending money on fun things in Provo.
- lack of dating {not that that'll change in DC, necessarily. it's just obnoxious all around}
- bipolar weather. like snow in June. blehhhhhh.
- no H&M {I'm gonna be spoooooooooiled this summer...}
- lack of cell service and wifi in the JFSB basement. I hope to never have 3 classes in one semester down there ever again.
overall, it'll be a super summer adventure, but I'm sad to be leaving my friends because Provo summers really are the most fun of the entire year.
Kenz, Heidi, Camille, Leah-- live it up for me.
so this channel started out a couple months ago as Sara Bareilles...
I've recently {by recently I mean in the last two days} listened to this for probly 20 hours.
but throughout the course of today, I've heard Journey, Barenaked Ladies, Jason Mraz, U2, Avril Lavigne, the Weepies, Boston, Smash Mouth, Matchbox 20, Coldplay, Mat Kearney, Toto, Linkin Park, Wham!, Britney Spears, Bruno Mars, Weezer, and probably some other crazy randoms.
yeah. good job Pandora. thank you for learning to play exactly the stuff I like. :)
Pandora=love. that list of artists is my Music Tuesday. I have a feeling I'm going to exploit that channel a lot on my 10-hour drive home next week.
ps Provo- by the way, it's Spring. stop snowing.

is this an April Fools joke? nope.
is this a weird obsession? yes.
am I okay with it? yes.
wikipedia & everyothersite define her as "model, heiress, socialite and American businesswoman".
she's awesome. she's 5'11"! she's one of the judges/head honchos on Celebrity Apprentice. she's goooooooooorgeous. she wore a Grace Kelly-inspired Vera Wang wedding dress. she's strong and tough when it comes to business {well, how can you NOT be when your dad's The Donald}, and she knows it. epitome of coolness in my book.
can that please be me?!?!
plus I've heard her dad is running for president.... {question mark????}
bahaha. whatevs Donald. you're crazy.
