When was the last time I posted!?!?

12:45 AM

Duuuuuude. I am SORRY. Sheesh. I think I maybe forgot I had a blog.

Maybe life will be less insane next term and I'll have more time to blog. When I don't have classes and I only have work 4 hours a day. Or maybe it will just fill up with reading books and watching the first four seasons of 24. :)

Ummm recent events in my life... I came up with a new catch phrase for the Riviera apartments over the weekend.

"Hi we're the Riv. We're expensive but we have the greatest residents alive, and we throw surprise parties like nobody's business. Don't like it? Don't live here."

Aaaaand it's the truth. We had two surprise parties this weekend for two people from the old-149th-new-80th ward.

Friday evening, we had a giant group date with all my best friends and favorite people (minus Leah and Kenna :( They weren't there and that made me uber sad).  It was an outdoor capture-the-flag-with-water-balloons-full-of-paint game. As seen below.

Don't we look so intense?!?!? Yeah. Those pictures were all taken at the very very end. The majority of the game was more like this...

Isn't Chantelly adorable?!!? :)

And I looked like a hobo. In my pajamas. But I went with my friend Brian. We had a picnic beforehand and divided into the green and pink teams. One guy, Nathan, got his face split open after Big Garrett tackled him. He ended up in the ER a few hours later and got eight stitches. Seriously epic date for Nathan.

Later that night Surprise Party #1 went down for Stephen. It was a dance party, because that's all Provo knows how to do. I just wasn't in the dancing mood that night, so a bunch of us ended up at some guys' apartment and watched Get Smart. I always forget how much I love that much. Leah and I were laughing before the funniest parts even happened, just remembering how hilarious they are.

Saturday night Surprise Party #2 went down for Camille. Once again, dancing was heavily involved. This time was much more enjoyable, I guess it was just a dancing night for me. Anyway, at certain points throughout the night, we danced to the Macarena AND the Cha Cha Slide. It felt like a genuine Stake Dance (gross), but it was hilarious making fun of everything.

Later that night, I ended up with a bunch of new (non-149th ward) 80th ward friends, including my friend Eric who was at the Capture the Flag date and who's apartment we watched Get Smart. Anyway we went to go see Robin Hood, and Eric kindly paid for me. He's a seriously cool guy and I'm glad we recently became (best?) friends. But Robin Hood was very mediocre. Too much fighting for my tastes. And a guy got seriously shot in the NECK; it was gross. Also they kept showing it, which I couldn't handle. But Eric and I kept making fun of parts of the movie, and that definitely made it more enjoyable.

And then last night was the Lost finale. I watched it at the Riv (woohoo big surprise, I spent my whole entire weekend there) Don't even get me started about my feelings on the whole thing. I'm very unsatisfied with it. Frustrated more than you can imagine. And if you're one of those people who said, "oh my goodness, best series finale ever, that was so beautiful, blah blah blah crap", after it was over, don't talk to me ever again. :)

New song: Gravity by Sarah Bareilles. It's seriously one of the saddest and most beautiful songs I think I've ever heard. And I still think of this epic piece from SYTYCD every time I hear it. This was the only time I ever cried watching the show. Seriously so beautiful. Anyways, I really don't have a reason for this being my song right now. It's not a theme song or anything- this is probably the happiest I've been in a long while. I think I just forgot how much I love it.
