So yeah, of course BYU is pretty much awesome. But I don't really have much to say other than that. But I guess maybe I should update you on the daily stuff that I do sometimes....

Oh my GOSH everyone should go take a Zumba class at least once in their life. It's like aerobic dancing, but to "world and Caribbean music", whatever that means. It was just like Latinish/salsaish/cuban actionish aerobic movement to Latin/Spanish/Cuban music. {We did it to Poker Face too, which was AWESOME because you could sing along.} I'm still sore from it. And it's Thursday. Last night we all sat in Kelsey and Alyssa's room and just chatted for a while about funny things. This morning we all {minus Kelsey :( because she had an 8 o'clock class} went to the gym in the RB. And it was almost the death of me. I benchpressed the bar, yes I have no muscles, and did some leg workout stuff too. So this morning as I was blow drying my hair, my arms were shaking because they were so soooooore!!! Ridiculous I know.

OH! I taught Sunday School last week. As much as I was dreading it, I felt like it didn't go too terribly awful. And I think, maybe, if that was my calling...... I might not cry about it? Hopefully my bishop doesn't like blogging. Or know what it is. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
And in my Sunday school class, there was this hot man from a foreign place... except we forgot his name. But he's smokin hot. And I called tap-tap. :}
Well, I forgot though, I gave up my tap-tap.

Nah, I'm only bored because I'm the only one home. Chantelle should be home in about an hour, but she was in Idaho today for her friend's wedding. And Tayler one of my otro roommates went camping overnight with her boy
So far today I've.... uhm... unpacked stuff, gone grocery shopping with mi familia, put my bed/mattress up on cinderblocks so I'm actually off the ground, ordered super-cute checks, and heard lots of attractive males outside my window. I'm probably just pretending they're attractive for my own purposes just because I'm wanting to MEET some of these attractive individuals rather quickly.
So I've done a lot of waiting today. But I did get my Western Family Mac N Cheese. Ten boxes of it in fact. :) H would be proud.
Speaking of which, 135 should be moving in some time next week. AKA- K Heidi and Eliesa. Uhhhhhhhm EXCITING, much?! Yes. And MC is coming to visit next weekend before she ships off to England. Wow that sounds weird. She won't be here... :( But apparently she slept in my bed last night. lol. Figures.... whatever that means... :/
Sorry I've been really in to smiley faces today. And I'm sorry if it's grossing you out. It's grossing me out too.
I'm really just wanting to go to DI or Ikea soon and start decorating this boring lame-o place. Yes, it's super ghetto. Everything is falling apart. One day I'll take pictures of everything that's falling apart. One day when I have 6 hours to spare.

Song of the Day-hmmmm okay do not judge me, but I have a super secret closet obsession with.... Demi Lovato. Yes and I swore I never would. But I accidentally listened to her** in the car for like 2 weeks straight. Then when I realized who it was that I'd fallen in love with, I just cringed a lot and had a really hard time getting over it. Took me, literally, like days. Imagine chatting with a complete stranger online, (why you'd ever do that is beyond me, but just pretend you do weird things like that) and after a few minutes you find that you enjoy conversing with them. After a few hours, you find have a lot in common, and you could see yourself hanging out with this person on a regular basis in the real world. You maybe even start crushing on this person a little bit. For the next few days, they're the only person you can think about. But when you do decide to meet them face to face, you discover that it's that guy that sat in front of you in middle school. You know, that one who never smelled good, was severely challenged athletically but thought they were the coolest person in the school. And as an added bonus, he totally asked you to the junior prom but after you said no, he heard you and your friends making fun of him the next day. Then a month later he found out you went to another school's dance with their football star. Yeah, fun times. Kinda like %&*@. shutter That's what Demi Lovato is for me. But I'm over it. And you should be too. But seriously, give her a chance. She might surprise you. Her song "Don't Forget" is uh-maze-ing with extra -maze-. :)

**Yes it is possible to accidentally listen to someone. When your sister puts cds in your car and you have no idea who's singing them. That's what happened to me. I honestly thought it was Paramore. MatthewBean would be ashamed.

So yesterday they announced the new cast of this fall's season of Dancing with the Stars. Ummmmmmmm can I get some excitement please?!?

Macy Gray-yeah sure I know who she is, but when I was reading the list off to my mom, I had to sing her one and only song in my most raspiest Macy Gray-impression. Which is actually pretty decent. They shoulda gotten Tina Turner. They sound the same.

Louis Vito-I wish it was Louie van Amstel, but sadly he's moved on to SYTYCD. Ummm... my almost twelve year old brother was excited about this one. Bad choice ABC because twelve year old boys will most assuredly NOT be voting for your pro-snowboarder contestants on DWTS. So he might be a weirdie.

Right now, having seen zero of their dancing abilities and based on my own childhood memories and preferences, I'm voting for Aaron, Sabrina, er, I mean Melissa, and Donny O. Maybe Kelly Osbourne. Just because I think she's gonna suck and it might be funny to watch her suffer. And hey, maybe if she stays on long enough Ozzy and Sharon will come see a performance. Ha, Ozzy should be on the show. Now that would get some ratings.

Oh! I'm posing a question to all three of you that read this blog- my boss asked me last week if "suck" was a cuss word. Ummmmmm I'm thinking it's not, because, hello? I say it? But I'm throwin it out there. Opinions?

Song of the week: Be There by Howie Day. I saw him in the Kelly Lounge last night and he was all around FANTABULOUS. He like recorded his own voice/guitar/beating on his guitar to make drum beats with these foot pedals and played them on top of one another to create his own one-man-band. He transitioned into this one song and made it sound like a rave! It was absolutely incredible. We told him so, too. :)

So I haven't posted in a while. (Thank you Captain Obvious) Blogger hates me, and won't let me upload my vids from The Fray concert. Boo. And I've been waiting for my seester to upload pictures from my friend Rachel's wedding. (Yes, Rachel Getting Married, that's a movie, haha, good job)But she has yet to. Another boo.

So I'm posting anyways. Aren't you glad?? Thanks. Me too.

Ummmm what have I done lately.... Well, update #1: I've been eating ice cream like a very sweaty child living in Arizona... Oh wait, am I? Almost. I'm a hardworkin', buff-o-rama workin' lady who happens to sweat at work sometimes and lives in a severely hot desert not in Arizona. Close enough right? But yeah, in the past week, I've been to Coldstone twice, had Haggendaas ice cream from Albertsons, aaaaand probably one other time too. Ridiculous. But still deelish.
Update #2: Today was supposed to be my last day of work, except I'm working on Tuesday, too. Ughhhhhhhh. But I will probably never step foot on Stiern Middle School's campus ever again. :) or step inside that stupid freezer at the Too Fat shop that makes my blood hurt.

Update #3: I leave for Utah in six days. Yes you can be excited for me. Not that I haven't had an awesome time at home, it's been really great getting to spend time with my family, and a few friends, (in all honesty, I haven't seen too many of my friends very much this summer, we've all just been busy/out-of-town/working/etc. In other words, boring) but it'll be sooooo great to go back to school too. I miss my friends there too!! And I miss, um, learning? And the social life, of course. And exercising. Well, walking on campus. Which is more than I do here. And grocery shopping. And just being away from home, too. Freedom and independence are always nice. Not the elementary/middle schools, grossy.

Update #4: I'm going to my dear friendly Dustin's mission farewell on Sunday. YAY! I'm so excited that I get to see him before he leaves, and that I'm finally going to a mission farewell! I always sign up for those "Elder Blankety-Blank is going on a mission!" groups and events on Facebook, but I'm never able to go because they're always in dumb Utah. But I'm going this time! :)

Update #5: I haven't started packing at all. Haha. But! I do own a red trenchcoat* now!! So bring on the snow, Wasatch Mountains, I'm so ready for it!

Someone actually reviewed it and said it was the best Single of the Week in a while, comparable to Fireflies, so of course I had to have it. :)

So I was talking to a formerly-close *cough*ex-boyfriend*cough today, and I was trying to tell him all the really neato* things I did while I was at school. And they started to sound lame. Cooking, playing Ultimate Frisbee, booooooring college things. But then when I finally started thinking of some good ones, I figured I should blog about it. In case I forget my Freshman year when I, uh, for lack of a better phrase, start over this Fall. Secretly, I practically AM starting over, but I don't like to think of it like that. But here's my list. :)

1) DanceSport. One of the biggest adrenaline rushes I think I've ever had ever. Just that whole dance-class experience in general was amazing. Especially when that one girl decided that Chris and I were the "scandal" of the class, because we were dating. HA! Thank you Chris. I've always wanted to be a scandal. Hahaha.
2) Ultimate Frisbee. I know it was on my boring list too, but really, it was AMAZING. And I actually learned how to catch and throw a frisbee better than a toddler. Thank you Josh.
3) Kenna's sister-in-law's "how to get through college in 3 years" training program with the free pizza. Most fun, randomly planned activity. Me, Chantelle, MatthewBean, and Kenna=Amazing time and funny experiences being on camera.
4) Cross-country skiing for the BYUSA Comms retreat. Okay so I failed at it, but I had fun failing and I got to know some amazing people.
5) Free VocalPoint concert. Chantelle, Kenna and I found our future husbands there. :)
6) Studying for Music 202 final. Okay, studying is not so fun, but studying the music and artwork of that class with Graham was SOOOO much fun. And it took forever.
7) FOL. Totally lame to actually claim that you went to Foundations of Leadership as an incoming Freshman, but seriously guys, DO IT if you can. It was awesome and I learned the major importance of leaders on a college campus.
8) Playing Rook for the very first time ever. Me, Warrenzo, Graham, and I think Kahi? I forget who, but I was definitely there for several hours playing. And I was really really good by the end. (Not really, but I pretend)
9) Studying for Fall semester finals, eating Wheatables and veggie cream cheese. It was never as good as that night.
10) Playing racquetball & learning to play racquetball. OH MY GOOOOOSH craziest sport ever invented but really AWESOME sport. I hit myself in the gut. Not fun. But Andrew and MatthewBean and Josh Wallace and Josh were fun.
11) Country Western dancing with Warrenzo. Super awkward to look back on now, like, it was sort of a date with Warren??!? What the heck!??! And hanging out with giggly Kevin+Kenna was sure entertaining. Plus Warrenzo broke my knee. :) Not really but I think it chipped the bone. I can't kneel anymore without it hurting. And I think it's hilarious. Poor guy.
12) Cosmic Bowling/Uno Bowling. I've blogged about that one enough. :)
13) Trying to go see Dark Knight with JoshWallace and Josh and Aaron and MatthewBean. But instead, reading the back covers of super gooey romantic novels and JoshWallace reading them in a totally serious voice while the rest of us were dying on the floor of the Dollar Mart.
14) Preference. Asking to Preference was AMAZING. But I did feel bad afterwards. And making dinner was super hectic for me, but it really didn't need to be. And looking back on it, even at the end of the semester, we had the strangest group of guys, but then by the end of the year, they each had their own story and place in our lives. Thank you Josh &; MatthewBean & Dustin & Taylor & Justin & Chris.
15) Watching The Grudge. And Taylor hiring his little asian friend to be the grudge and crawl in wearing a pillowcase made me want to die a little bit. And I had terrible nightmares for a while. But now its a really great story to tell
16) Nerd Night 2009. Actually, just going to the Creamery with Kelly and finding SmartWater and Scrabble-shaped Cheez-Its. By far the best discovery ever.
17) Going with Ross to his grandparents house and talking to/listening to the old people. Hilarious. But I've blogged about that one already.
18) The Quote Wall. Just look in that box on the right at the top and you'll see why.
19) Going to that Chilaen restaurant with Aaron and MatthewBean and JoshWallace and Josh and Zac and Andrew (?). They all told their first kiss story. Aaron and MatthewBeans's were fake. And I believed the fake stories. Then they twisted my words to make it sound like I made out with an old man & his dentures.
20) Facebook stalking *****. Not to be confused with %&*@ from the Creepist Saga. No, ***** just had ridiculous Facebook status updates every like 4 minutes or so, telling the world exactly what he was doing every second of every minute of every hour of every day. It was exhausting. But the emo ones were definitely the funniest.

And I was just going to make this a top twenty buuuut...
21)%&*@. Well, he definitely wasn't my favorite (although I might have been his.... *shudder*), but the whole story told in the Creepist Trilogy. That whole, um, experience. And laughing about it afterwards. Most memorable experience of Freshman year BY FAR. So it had to be on the list.

Imagine this-
One chilly November afternoon, you just got out of class and you're walking across the BYU campus in between the Leebrary, JFSB, Talmedge building, and Tanner building, you know the place, and you spot a brilliantly red spot in the mass amounts of students slowly being herded around and behind and next to and toward you. The spot gets bigger and bigger as you realize... it's a person. Now, you think, a red person? Santa Claus? No, wrong. As the red individual gets closer, it looks like Moses parting the the sea of college students. All heads turn to look at the blinding red. Finally she walks past you, and you see it-the red trenchcoat. Long sleeved, knee-length, complete with gold buttons, just long enough in every way that you can see the cuffs of her brown cable knit sweater and her American Eagle boyfriend jeans, not really a raincoat, but not a fuzzy-warm sweater either. It's the most fabulous thing you've ever seen. You swear you've seen that girl walking on campus before, usually hiding her well-styled hair and made-up face from the falling snowflakes under her fur-lined hood, and practically power-walking from class to class or any form of cover. But today is different. Today, she walks with her head held high, without a care in the world. Her smile is warm and welcoming, but the coat makes her completely untouchable.

That girl, was me.



Okay not really. But this year, I'm going to be that red person. Because I now own my very own red trenchcoat.
I really saw that girl, and how flippin amazing she was. And after that, I noticed more girls with red trenchcoats.

So biggest, most exciting, definitely most blogged-about part of my summer happened on Wednesday. I went to see The Fray. :) Oh, and Jack's Mannequin too. They were good, but kind of boring compared to my boyfs.

So anyways, the trip down there was long and tedious. Just lotsa driving. But we DID find this AMAZING lil' Frenchy restaurant called CrepeMaker. They had the yummiest crepes. And they weren't just dessert crepes, although they had those too. But they were like wraps, just thrown into a crepe instead of a tortilla. Like, my mom got a pesto chicken crepe, Erin got a pizza crepe, just with pizza sauce and cheese and 'ronis. Jaime got a ham & cheese crepe, which was basically just an amazingly better version of a Hot Pocket, and I got a Tex-Mex crepe, with yummy chicken and tomatos and salsa and cheese and lettuce... Basically a taco salad wrapped up in a crepe. Soooooooooo deelish.

So then we were off to the concert. Jaime bought a Jack's Mannequin shirt, I bought The Fray's. We sort of had a rivalry. But I totally won. :) After purchasing our shirts, we sat in our seats. Not my favorite seats in the world, but still better than the yucky lawn seats over half the audience had. We at least had seats, not blankets. When the concert finally started, this funny group called Vedera, veeery specifically pronounced VAY-deh-raaaah, not Vuh-Dare-Uh, like the rest of America and I would have pronounced it, came on. They were aight. (Yes I am Randy Jackson, thank you for asking.) They played a few songs, but no one really paid any attention to them. Then Jacky-Poo came on. They started out with Dark Blue (my fave. good choice, guys), complete with blue lights all over the stage. And the rest of their songs were good too, but I only knew a handful of them. oh! and as luck would have it, Jaime didn't upload the videos that were already on her video camera, so we had zero, let me repeat that, zero video cameras available to record this momentous occasion. So I only recorded two vids from the entire night. Boo. Dark Blue was one of the songs that I started out recording, but deleted it as soon as The Fray came on. Sorry Jacky-poo.

So the Fray came on. They started out with a kind of fuzzy one note, with lotsa feedback and stuff, and at first I thought it was just the mics and stuff screwing up because it took them 45 minutes to set up the stage & gear & such (which, turns out they STILL didn't get all right, some of the light panels on the right side of the stage were out), but then one lone spotlight shone down from the middle of the stage on Isaac, and he started singing Happiness, basically acappella minus the one feedbacky note. Ooooooooooooh baby it was COOL. I even started tearing up a lil bit. So he sang about the first three lines of the song that way, then aaaaaaall the lights came on and they started in to Over My Head. That was by far the coolest part. Throughout the night they played Absolute, Say When, Where the Story Ends, Ungodly Hour, Syndicate, How to Save a Life, Never Say Never, She Is, Little House, & You Found Me (obviously). Approximately in that order. Jaime and Erin kept making fun of the light panels in the background. For example, during Say When, they had a giant parrot flying around displayed on the light panels behind the band (don't ask me why, it's probably some crazy musician's metaphor). So then when Isaac would raise his arms during the chorus, they would raise their arms too, and start flapping them around like the parrot, making fun of Isaac. Meanies. But Erin kept calling it a 'rainbow bird', instead of a parrot. Which was funny.
They ended the official show with You Found Me, but then came back on for the encore and sang Look After You, All At Once, and Kanye's Heartless! :) But in the middle of Look After You, they started singing the chorus of "Man In The Mirror" by MJ!! Everyone was singing along, and Isaac just made it his "little tribute to the legendary musician". That was probably my other favorite part. That and physically being in the crowd that "all at once... began to sing, sometimes the hardest thing and the right thing are the same". That was a DREAM COME TRUE for me. So basically it was amazing. Arguably the best night of my life. To date, anyway.
