day 15 - phone

1:10 AM

here she is.

also I realized, before trying to take a picture of my phone...
the only camera I have... is on my phone.

that didn't work out too well.
so Chrisanne took one of my phone
on her phone.
sheesh. the world we live in.

but my story for the day about this baby
so this morning, I had a 10:30 phone interview for a job at a pr firm in washington, dc
(eeeeeeeeeeee! exciting!! be excited for me!!!)
but I had to take the call at work for various reasons.
so I get up to the top of the stairs of death
and realize that
my phone is not in my pocket.

I didn't start panicking because I thought, "maybe I just left it at home?"
but I didn't. I knew I didn't.

so then, all of a sudden, some man behind me taps my shoulder and says,
"did you lose your phone?"
I wanted to cry lots
but I didn't say anything --
mostly just stared at him and kept hitting my pockets and digging through my bag.
then he, very magically and heroically, says,
"because I found this in the street back there"
and pulls out my phone.

in the street.
in the street!
in the street!!

my phone definitely should have been run over.
there wasn't even a crack or scratch on the ridiculously fragile iPhone screen.
I shouldn't have been able to take that phone interview call 20 minutes later.
I shouldn't have been able to take a picture of my phone, from another phone.
but I did. because I very nice man picked up my phone from
in the street!
and found me.

hal. le. lu. ia.
I wish I could hug that man right now.

2 love notes

  2. What a great story. When you get that call that you got the job, you will have to give a quiet shout out to the man saying thank you!!!!
