so school starts tomorrow. my last first day of school {probly} ever. maaaaaan. that's just crazy.
but. to recap my last three days. because they've been pretty insane :)

6pm - my freshman boys Chris & Andrew came over to figure out our New Years' plans. Andrew joked that his aunt had mentioned he could celebrate the new year in Las Vegas with their family. we halfway started seriously considering it.
6:30pm - after we couldn't find a good reason not to go to Vegas, we called Chris' more mature and responsible sister to give us guidance. she said go for it.
6:45pm - we flipped 3 dimes to seal the deal. all three landed on heads on the first flip. it was fate. we had to go.
7pm - we picked up Chris' brother Daniel and we were on the road to Vegas. and a little in shock that we were actually doing this. but we were set to go with our sleeping gear, lots of crackers, apples and pigs in a blanket.
7:30ish - we started playing Stinky Pinky. you have to think of two words that rhyme (like 'stinky' and 'pinky') and think of synonyms for those words (like 'smelly' and 'finger'). our favorite phrases were 'rodent insect' - 'rat gnat' and 'mediocre hot tub' - 'blah spa' or, if Daniel's guessing, 'floozy jacuzzi'. and 'catholic marijuana' - 'mass grass' or, if you ask Daniel again, 'Pope dope'.
9:30ish? - Andrew got a ticket for speeding in Summit, Utah (??? I don't even think that counts as a real place). still, the officer was nice enough and said we were only going 5 miles over the speed limit. when that was really truly not the case.
11pm (PST) - we got to Vegas and walked down to the Strip. our favorite people were the strange singing drunk Russian girls walking behind us for what felt like miles, the police officer who told the drunken girls singing "Party Rock Anthem" at the top of their lungs to, "Go back to college." under his breath, the really short Italian lady who became Chris' friend when he said that 2012 meant the world was ending, and the four police officers who thought I wanted to take a picture of them, when really, I wanted them to take a picture of us.

midnight - we stood in between The Venetian and Treasure Island and watched the fireworks shoot of from the roofs of the buildings. Treasure Island clearly won the Better Fireworks Show contests.
12:10am - every couple minutes or so, Treasure Island would shoot off another lone firework. Silly Treasure...
2:30ish? - after flipping more dimes and stupidly vetoing the plan to stay the night with Andrew's family in Vegas, we were back on I-15 heading toward Provo.
I don't remember anything for the next five hours. I was totally comatose in the back seat while Andrew & Chris drove. apparently at one point, I sat up a little bit and Chris said "Good morning." I responded with a very grumpy, "Shut up." I have zero recollection of that.
8am (MST) - we pulled in to my driveway in Provo. we'd been gone 13 hours.
12:45pm - I went over to Chris' apartment and we met Andrew to go to church.
3:30pm - we didn't have to sing "Ring Out, Wild Bells" in Sacrament meeting. thank heavens. that may have been the first time in my life I didn't have to sing that on New Years Sunday.
5:00pm - Chris & Andrew came over to my house for Crock Pot Italian chicken.
6:30pm - we sat around my place chatting for a while about what to do next (Chris kept joking about another road trip) and ended up at Chris' apartment. Daniel and I watched "Despicable Me" while Andrew & Chris worked on a puzzle
9:00pm - I joined the boys on the puzzle. I was really good at finding where the plants and yellow flowers went.
11:00pm - we gave up on the puzzle from Hell once we were halfway done and determined to finish it the next day. or some other time in the future.

10:30am - Chris & Andrew met me at my house and we drove around Provo / Orem running errands.
11:00am - after DI was closed, Savers proved unsuccessful in the blender and crock pot lid department, and Best Buy only had expensive things, we made our way to Walmart to find me a digital antenna and box for my tv.
12:30pm - we came back to my house where the boys started to set up the tv stuff while I made sandwiches.
1:30pm - we were having zero success with the antenna, so we made our way back to Chris' place for more work on the evil puzzle and Snickerdoodle cookies.
2:30pm - the gang went their separate ways to run errands and do productive things. personally, I took a nap.
6:30pm - we met back up at Andrew's apartment with the addition of everyone else who'd come back to Provo in the last couple hours - Chantelle, Rosalind, Heidi & Warren (who we hadn't seen in two years!!) and Dallin
7:00pm - for Friendly Home Evening, we squished into Chantelly's Durango and drove up to Farr's Fresh in Orem near University Mall for Dole Pineapple Whips, Kid History quoting and lots of reminiscing.
8:30pm - we drove back to our house and hung out & chatted the rest of the night.
midnight - everyone cleared out & headed home.
Today
2:30am - Heidi and I finally went to bed after talking about everything under the sun for two and a half hours.
holy. cow. the last couple days have been a crazy whirlwind. I hope Andrew & Chris still like me after this weekend - we were crazy and spent almost too many waking (and sleeping, on my part) minutes together.
but I don't regret any of it for a second. like my grandma said when I told her the story, "be irresponsible while you can afford to!"
thanks, grandma. done and done.

picture this, but night time. and lots of drunk people. that's exactly where we were standing in the middle of the street.
