okay - first and foremost - just so everybody knows, Utah was playing this song WAY before California was. I've had this song as my ringtone at least since January (not that I'm especially proud of that anymore, now that it's taken over the planet). and it's still taking over the radio here. aka - California was super late at jumping on the bandwagon.

I'm beginning to feel that way about other songs, too, not just this one.

anyways.

can I just say I love all of these parodies I see on the internet? the song is UBER catchy to begin with, so I love that people are doing funny things with it.

10/4/2012 addendum: this gem was created for general conference this weekend. my roommate thinks it's borderline sacrilegious. I just think it's awesome.

first, sorry I'm a terrible blogger.
not that anyone reads these posts, I just feel like I've let down an invisible friend out there somewhere.
so, I'm sorry. my life is ultra boring, so I've had little to say.

even today's post is a bit rant-ish. or needy.
or something like that.
who knows if this even stays public, so be glad you're reading it while you can.

second, I want to give a birthday shout out to Prince William.
he's 30 years old today.
Happy Birthday, Prince William.

and because my mother and I {and probly my dear friend Jani, if she'd ever admit to it} are closet royal stalkers, I read an article this morning on the birthday party Kate is throwing for him, and another one on his life as prince. my favorite part of the second article was that when they're not busy being royals, William and Kate mostly just stay at home and watch TV shows on Netflix! they also fly on low-cost airlines when they go on vacation, and they go on dates to the movies. okay seriously - how awesome is that?! they're most likely going to be the king and queen of England someday and they're okay with being normal about things!!

I mean, the article points out that they do it because they are very aware of the publicity stunts some of their younger siblings like to get involved in, but I like to believe that they're just happy being together.


and that's what I want. someone who will be okay with just sitting around the house and watching TV shows with me for hours on end. sure, it's a waste of time, but it's an adorable waste of time.

I want someone who will be okay with having pasta for dinner every day {because goodness knows that's not changing anytime soon}.
someone who will eat those stupid little french fry tidbits that totally aren't worth my time so I can stop feeling guilty about not eating them.
someone who will calmly respect me when I say that I hate the gym, and then throw me over his shoulder and make me go anyway.
and someone to teach me how all those crazy machines at the gym work.
someone who will throw me surprise parties. and help me throw parties for other people.
someone who will drive fast, but won't leave the driveway until my seat belt is on.
someone who thinks I'm still cute even when I'm mad or stressed -- because I know it happens far too often.
someone who will fix all my electronics, or at least try to.
someone who will help me be a fun mommy.
and someone who will acknowledge the fact that I'm terrible at most sports, but will try to teach me anyway.
someone I can dance with {I don't even care if he's terrible}.
someone who loves my family.
someone who will never ever fight with me about Apple vs PC products.
someone who isn't intimidated by the fact that I have crazy outlandish dreams of a future career at Google or Facebook or Apple -- or maybe even start my own company someday??
someone who will be proud of me when I make {sort of} crafty things from Pinterest.
and, of course, someone who will take me to the temple.
someone I can be a total dork with, but will still get dressed up and go with me to fancy luncheons or receptions or galas -- because I definitely see a lot of those in my future. not even kidding.
someone capable of having a civil conversation about politics and who will let me know when I start to get feisty about it.
someone who will be a good father. someone very much like my daddy.
someone who won't make me watch Lord of the Rings.
and someone who will weed the yard so I never ever have to.

and that's all I'm asking for.

for now, I love the royals. :)

Anyway. Four years ago I started this blog as a way to keep my friends (and mostly my mom) updated on want was going on in my life. That's still true, but it's still crazy that I'm DONE with school. Potentially FOREVER.

this is also a rhetorical question because I know I'm right. I wiki-ed it. and I am right. and it has very recently become a major pet peeve of mine.

typically, I hate March.

hate hate hate hate hate.

it's definitely my least favorite month ever.

BYU doesn't give us a Spring Break, so March becomes the loooooooooongest month of the year. especially because it's wintertime and dreary and snowy and awful outside.

but not this year!

reasons why I am not going to hate March this year:

1. it's my last March of school. ever! 2nd to last month of school ever! can't beat that.
2. we didn't really have a winter. minus the random blizzards recently. and that in itself is a miracle. and awesome.
3. maybe it will decide to be Spring early???
4. st. patrick's day. aka - the day everyone wears my favorite color. :)
5. I'm in a sewing class. and Zumba. both are hilarious & fun.
6. I'm almost done with school forever!
7. I love my job and my friends and my house and everything about my life right now.
8. I have a job offer!! In DC! and I had an interview for a firm in New York yesterday, a firm in California today and a potentially interested company in Utah. seriously - this last week has been the craziest and most exciting week of my life. I have a future!!
