I want to make this.
granted, mine won't look nearly as beautiful as this one, but this is the general idea.
some girls at the Riv had a clock inside a book, and I thought it was the most genius idea ever.
then I forgot about it until like 2 weeks ago.
so now I've been re-inspired. {I'm sure going to that awesome used book store near Eastern Market helped that inspiration a lil}
here's how it'll go down.
step 1) find a sweet used book. but not one that I will be too sad about destroying. I found a really fun {green} copy of sherlock holmes. something like that.
step 2) buy said sweet used book.
step 3) take apart a clock. ???
step 4) cut a square out of the middle of the last 2/3 of the pages in the book
step 5) glue last 2/3 pages to each other
step 6) glue first 1/2 pages to each other
step 7) put clock guts and hands into the cut out square
step 8) done-ski?
mostly it sounds like a lot of gluing. and figuring out how to take apart a clock.
we'll see how it goes.

dear fam,
4 more weeks till I'm home. thanks.
love, that was way too much fun :)
my life now revolves around cupcakes.
every day around noon-ish, sprinkles cupcakes sends out a tweet with a code word or phrase for a free cupcake! it's typically only available to the first 50 people, but I live so close, I'll get one, um, let's just say often. and because I just subscribe to their tweets via text message, I get a text every single day with a new secret phrase for a new free cupcake.
:)
it's to the point where people will text me and ask for today's code, or when I come home from work, people just ask 'how was today's cupcake?'
yeahhhh. it's pretty bad.
my reviews so far
lemon blueberry- pretty good, but I thought I would like it more than I did. the lemon frosting was a lil overwhelming, and the cake part was moist enough, but the whole thing just sorta just tasted like a blueberry muffin with SUPER strong lemon paste on top. 7/10
milk chocolate- by far my favorite. super moist and not a ton of frosting, but it was this super yummy chocolate butter cream frosting that was sooooooooo gooey and good. I would eat this one every day if they'd send me a free code for it. 9/10
dark chocolate- I don't like dark chocolate, so this one was a miss for me. I fell in LOVE with the milk chocolate and thought this one would be just as good. not so much. if you're a dark chocolate fan though, this might be divine. 5/10
red velvet- super yummy, but how can you go wrong with red velvet?? it was reeeeeally moist and the buttercream frosting on top just made it heavenly. a do-over for sure. 8/10
banana peanut butter- also an interesting one, but I sort of loved it. maybe because I wasn't expecting much. anyway, kinda like the lemon blueberry, it was mostly like a banana bread-ish cupcake with this really creamy sweet peanut butter on top. I'd definitely do this one again, just because it was so different. 7/10
black and white- I had high expectations for this one, and it was good, don't get me wrong, but it was a lil average in my opinion. the chocolate shaving sprinkles on top were probly my favorite part. chocolate cake with vanilla frosting, ehhhh. all really really good, but nothing out of the ordinary. 7/10
cinnamon sugar- don't get this one. it was lame. sure all the cakes at sprinkles is really gooey and moist, but this had zero frosting on it. just a layer of cinnamon sugar on top of a kinda weird spice cake. not very appealing. I'm sorry, I didn't think I was a frosting girl, but I stand corrected. I want my frosting. 3/10
chocolate marshmallow- okay this one was seriously legit guys. it tasted JUST like a hostess cupcake. with the hard chocolate layer on top and the marshmallowy goodness on the inside.... super delicious. my second favorite of all the ones I've had so far. way yummy. 8.5/10
vanilla- vanilla on vanilla. it was okay. frosting was the best part {but apparently I'm a sucker for their butter cream stuff so THAT'S nothing new}. I not-so-accidentally accidentally ate two of these in one night, so that sort of tainted my view as well. two sprinkles cupcakes in one night = too much cupcake. but still, pretty okay. 5/10
and just for the record, I don't plan to take complete advantage of them. I've already told myself I'll probly buy a shirt at the end of the summer, just to commemorate this outrageously awesome {and kind of diabolical} experience. so you should probly ask me about it when you see me rockin the shirt around Provo.
